Horses and bicycles were the most common vehicles when I visited Cuba last year. The famous vintage cars of the 50’s were frequent in Havana and Varadero, but in the countryside there were mostly some old lorries, tractors – and plenty of horses.

Guinea pigs moving freely around the house was a phenomenon that surprised me. In Sweden they are kept as pets in cages (often spending most of their lives in the children’s room). The guinea pigs I saw on the lawn in Vinales seemed happily unaware of that.
