WordPress Weekly photo challenge: Habit

Miscellaneous, Weekly Photo Challenge

This week’s photo challenge is Habit. One of my habits is filter coffee; normally once a day, about two-three hours after breakfast. The coffee has to be strong, black and really hot. The cup is preferably quite big, thin and bright.
My son claims that you can judge the perfect strength of filter coffee from its bubbles: If they are copper-coloured the coffee is too strong. If the bubbles are silver, it is too weak. But when the bubbles are golden the coffee is perfect. I fully agree.

        • I had to google to find out what a Brikka is… I actually have one in my cupboard, but use it rarely. Perhaps because I normally make coffee only for myself. I pour the boiling water onto the grinded coffee in a Melittafilter. (Are you familiar with that German innovation?)

        • It sound technical. Is it?

I have many friend who have built in major machines now but i can be bothered. I do however have my own bean grinder for the lovely early morning smell.

        • No, on the contrary. Very old-fashioned. Most people I know have machines. It makes their kitchens look elegant.
The smell of grinded coffee is a perfect way of starting the day!

    • Of course it depends on how strong or weak you prefer your coffee. But the colour of the tiny bubbles is definitely a good indication of the strength.

    • Oh yes, of several brands and blends. I often have tea three times a day… Black in the morning, green jasmine late at night. And perhaps orange-flavoured in between. Thank you for your comments. 🙂

      • I have about 40 kinds of tea ranging from herbal (not really tea, I know, but…) to white, green, oolong and black. I have it every day, too.

        Enjoy!
